Meet Jo Lucas

Jo Lucas is the founder of The Lakes Orthotics in Nottinghamshire. Her clear passion for helping others led her to leave her senior clinician role within the NHS to set up a private practice 10 years ago. She has built multiple businesses along the way as opportunities and difficulties came along (second child, global pandemic…). Jo’s strong beliefs in pivoting and jumping on opportunities when they arise has allowed her to build a well respected and renowned clinical practice, having clients travel from all corners of the country.

She has featured in several publications including Tatler and Phits Facts, and is considered a pioneer of one of the UK’s leading 3D printed foot orthotics. She was a finalist for several health business awards and also consults for one of the largest biomechanics solutions companies in the UK, as well as a new private orthopaedic hospital in Yorkshire.

Jo is an accredited Certified Business Strategist and is dedicated to helping other health and wellness practitioners build the business of their dreams, utilising the wealth of knowledge and experience she has gained whilst growing her own businesses.

Previously Jo served in the Royal Navy and specialised in communications and intelligence and this has certainly helped shape her into the dedicated, ambitious and uncompromising entrepreneur she is today. The combination of 20 years in a caring profession and her previous military career means Jo is supportive yet straight talking and just knows how to get the job done.

Outside of work, Jo is extremely passionate about musical theatre, a love she shares with her husband and their two young daughters, and they try to indulge in this passion as much as possible.
